Harold G. VanAmburgh (3/23/1932 - 7/4/2010)



Harold G. VanAmburgh, 78, of DeBary, passed away at his residence on July 4, 2010.

Born in Albany, N.Y., he was the son of the late Harold J. and Ruth Kerin Van-Amburgh, and the husband of Phyllis Fish Van-Amburgh.

He resided in Albany and later Northville, N.Y. He retired from the trucking industry and owned and operated some private businesses before relocating in DeBary in 1991.

Harold was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion in Broadalbin, N.Y., the Moose Lodge #655, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 4526 in DeBary.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his sons, Daniel J. VanAmburgh of Gloversville and Timothy E. (Debi) VanAmburgh of Fonda; his brothers, Edward (Arlene) VanAmburgh of DelRay Beach, Fla. and John (Nancy) VanAmburgh of North Greenbush; his sisters, Fay Milot (Kevin) Allen of Niskayuna, Linda (William) Banker of Averill Park, and Christine (Daniel) Giovannangelo of Rotterdam; his granddaughter, Brianna Lyn Van-Amburgh of Gloversville; his stepchildren, Tina Doucette, Donald and Randy Fish, all of DeBary; and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was predeceased by his son, Harold Jr. in 1991 and his brother, Paul J.VanAmburgh who passed away on the same day in Latham, N.Y.

Services private at the convenience of the family. Interment, Northville Cemetery, Northville, N.Y.
